A minor adjustment to the hood stops helps tremondously although it will be just slightly unaligned, that is what most dealers do anyways. I think that problem was just an 02/03 issue my old 01 did'nt have that issue.

They also take off the insulation and squirt some liquid weld where the welds broke. That, and the hood-stop adjustment took care of mine.

Is it easy to see where the welds broke when you take the insulation off? I was afraid of doing this tsb because I do not want to affect now the hood bends if it were to get into an accident (although having it not properly welded may not be a good thing either) if I were to apply the liquid glue incorrectly.

Yes, it's pretty easy to see where they broke, or you can take a putty knife and slip it between the hood brace and the hood and slide it along to see where it's loose.

Using a spatula/tongue depressor/putty knife

Broken weld

Also, nobody has mentioned the headlamp packs they put in... basically a piece of rubber gasket installed on top of the headlight housing that changes the direction of the airflow.

After having it "fixed" @ purchase, I've just gotten used to it. So long as the locking mechanism keeps it in place, I'll just accept it as one of this car's quirks.

Does anyone know if this problem affects the A33 I30/I35?
