help with the exhaust tip

I have the factory muffler and the one piece tip look like a vaccum attachment. I like to keep the stock exhuast but I want to remove that tip and put two chrome finish tips. I've noticed it's held by a screw in the middle but after getting the screw off, the tip won't come off. Is this welded on to the dual pipe? If anyone done it before, any advice how to get it off?

I think you have to cut off the stock tips and leave enough lenghth so you could weld the new ones on.

The tip is not welded. The tip is just extremely tight. I had to destroy the orginal tip to get it off.
