Getting a Paint Job
Call your insurance company and see who they'd recommend. Most insurance companies have "preferred" shops that they use for collision repair. Keep in mind that if you're looking at a complete paint job, under $2k in kinda border line on getting a high quality job done. I've generally seen prices start from $2K-$2.5K on up. It's a ton of work, and you generally get what you pay for. Shop around and don't rush into it. Check out the shops, work space, front office......do you feel comfortable leaving your vehicle there? Research is the key, not always the $$$ amount.
Off the record.................There's no way to tell if it was malicious or not. Put a few "F-ck You's" in there, and you're set! Nah, jus kidding! I do not, in any way shape or form, believe in fraudulent insurance claims. And, you don't want to run the chance of your premium going up also. But yeah, checking with your insurance company is the best starting place. Also, call your agent and ask him where he would take HIS/HER car if they had to put in a claim. Your adjuster has hands on experience dealing with these preferred shops in both good and bad situations. They'll truly know which shops actually care about treating their customers right. Good Luck!
