fog light rewireing help

fog light rewireing help

sorry for the noobie question...

i can't get the middle part of the box off...i looked at the diy and followed the instructions, and it still won't come off...i pushed the two tabs together and loosened the other three...am i missing a step??

On my 4th gen, which is very similar, I broke and beat the he// out of that box.

You have to use two very small screwdrivers and pry the other part of the fuse box off the housing I think. I think there is a very detailed "How To" somewhere on this.

Getting that damn box off is by far the hardest part of this mod.

When I did it there wasn't enough slack in the wires to pull it up, so although all the tabs were unhooked, I couldn't pull the part that had all the wires in it up. I ended up taking the bolts off that hold the whole housing to the car so I could drop that part down while pulling up on the section with the wires. And even w/that it was still pretty tight.

Definitely the hardest part is getting the relay box apart. Just gotta pull like hell.
