If they do a FULL fuel system and intake cleaning with new fuel filter, change ALL fluids, that includes power steering & brake fluid! New A/C air filter and FULL detail I'd think about it. Otherwise you can do it yourself for around $200.

i have the list of what they do in front of me..

oil change/ filter, install BG service kit, rotate titres and check pressure, perform battery service, inspect brake linings, perfrom minor transmission service (system flush additional$$$), pcv valve, air filter, fuel filter, wiper blades, cabin filter, adjust parking brake, drain and refil coolant, top off washer level, top off brake fluid level, multi point inspection, road test...

then they suggest all this addidtional stuff that im sure is great for the car but costs $$$

Just make sure that it's not going to affect your warranty. I've heard of this, but I've never had it happen to me - if you neglect the scheduled maintenance they could deny a warranty claim in the future if something failed that is checked during the maintenance.

Scheduled maintenance should be a standard price among Nissan dealerships for the most part - call around to make sure they aren't hosing you.

Well do not do it that is my .02 save your money man

Do it yourself and to avoid warranty issues write it down as a personal maintenance....

Good luck

If you dont want to do it yourself then save your money and have mechanic do it for you and make sure on the receipt they document what they did that way if Nissan tries to deny you on warranty and can fruck them over.

That soudns about right. I haven't reached 30k yet, but from looking through the coupons they send me every month to bug me for an oil change, $400 is actually a good price.

And if you're under warranty or looking to trade in your car, my dealer now keeps track of when you denied their offer to perform a service. I guess it doesn't look as good...

Before you guys get anything done at a dealership make sure your going to a tech advisor you can trust. Also you may want to check the owners manual the maximas dont require much of a tune up till they hit close to 90k when they flush all the fluids and replace the spark plugs.

They seriously said fuel filter? I've been to 2 different dealerships to pick up a few parts and asked a few question everytime. I was always told that our 5th gen fuel filters would last the life of the car and the other said it would last about 150,000 miles. I have never seen a fuel filter last that long and I know they offically call it a strainer (i think). I'm thinking about doing it myself, i've seen the write-ups. Sorry for the ramble guys, but I'm just surprised that the dealership told you to change the fuel filter.

The 30K service is a joke....there is NOTHING in that service package that you cannot do yourself with minimal difficulty. Filters, fluidds, etc....are all pretty easy to do, and you can do everything on that service list yourself for around $150.....

i dont trust teh stealerships... its too easy for them to do nothing and charge you, cause you your not gonna take out your fuel pump to check if they put in a new fuel filter. Minor transmission service? How are you gonna know they did that, whatever that is? They gonna put your car through a car wash, call you in 5 hours and tell you you can pick it up as soon as you pay up. Good advice in this case: pay with a credit card so you can dispute the charge afterwards

I leased my 2k GLE for 4 years/48k miles, and NEVER listened to the dealer BS regarding warranty rejections, etc. I would take the list, cross out everything that said "inspect", and then pay the price to have them do whatever was left. It would start at a $300 service, and end up a $60 oil/filter change, tire rotation and air filter change.

I repeatedly had chats with the service drones about this, because they liked to tell me how my warranty will be voided if I don't have the "inspections" done. In my opinion, if a competent mechanic can't see that the exhaust is hanging from a chewed piece of bubblegum without being paid $30 to "inspect" that item, that's their problem.

I turned the car in at the end of the lease, and there were no penalties whatsoever.

Don't Do It!!!!

I was there on Friday, and they said the same thing, I have 28k.

i spent an hour referencing my service manual, and unless you follow the PREMIUM service schedule, absolutely NONE of that with the exception of changing the oil + filter, + air filter is necessary at 30k.

Personally - I go with the second option service plan (#2) which is the lesser of the two.
But that's how I drive. Apply accordingly to your driving habits and schedules.

The ONLY service that truly matters that should be considered is the 60k, and EVEN then MOST of this can be done by yourself with some exception.

Brake Fluid change, Coolant change, PCV change (easy), Tranny Fluid Change, and MAYBE intake cleaning, are the ONLY things that are REALLY needed at the 60k interval unless you are REALLY beating your car or putting on tons of miles.

The stealer is trying to make money, plain and simple. FOLLOW YOUR MAINTAINENCE MANUAL and you will NEVER be out of warranty.

You guys have it easy -- try being a WOMAN going into one of these places.
Stealers PREY on them.
I have a hard time not getting screwed by the stealer -- imagine if you knew NOTHING at all as most people do about cars.

It's criminal.
