Tokico Illumina's 1.5" Waranteed Ride Height

So I've come to the decision to purchase the Illuminas along with either Progress or Tein H-Tech Springs, both of which lower the front by more than 1.5 inches. I've read that Illuminas only "warantees" drops up to 1.5 inches, so what are the chances of blowing one out? I mean I'm paying more than $100 for each strut and I sure to get many miles out of it.

I was read housecor's springs/struct guide and one of his Illumina blew out with the Progress setup. It looks SO SWEET though.

Is this a recurring problem for you guys?

And oh yea, any feedback from you H-Tech/Illumina or Progress/Illumina owners out there will help a lot.

I have S-Techs/Illuminas with over 12K miles on them with no problems. I think housecor has had the only blown Illumina strut.

I think its the AGX that have the 1.5" drop warranty, no illumina. I may still have the paper work to both brands.

It's just that 2.2" up front and 1.6" rear from the S-Techs sound like A LOT of stress on the struts, and although Tokico stuff are probably some of the best out there, one or two cases of blown struts are enough to scare me.

But what the hell? I think I'll go with the Progress/Illumina or Tein/Illumina setup anyway.

Anyone know the difference between H-Tech and S-Tech other than the ride height?

just dont go complaining to tokico when the struts wear out prematurely with springs that drop the car 2 inches. Tokico wont warrantee the struts with a drop that low for a reason... just my .02

I have the H-Tech and Illuminas. Nice ride, but certain bumps can shake the **** out of my car.

The H-tech/Illumina setup looks nice. I don't think blown struts happen very often.

I don't think any strut/shock mfg. will warranty their equipment when used with springs that lower the ride height more then 1.5".
