HID conversion for AE headlights??

Just bought 01 AE. I want to upgrade lighting. I've scoured the last 20 pages of posts along with How-To's, and Faq's. Has anyone bought a HID conversion kit and used it in the AE headlights, or even stock 00-01's? Will it look like the cheap ricy blue lights I see all over, that don't have a crisp beam pattern but rather throw annoying light all over the place? Should I just throw in some PIAA Extreme Whites for cheap?

AE headlights

If this helps. it may be cheaper to go PIAA or really cheaper to go Sylvania Brightstar. I called Nissan Dealer here in Toronto and the told me that the conversion could run up to CAD$ 1,500. That's too rich for my blood.

I took the Sylvania route since all I wanted was a brighter ligt to illuminate the way for me.

Since I'm a highly generous person... and I'm procrastinating from my studying... here's the link to a thread with some pics of an AE with HIDs... like I mentioned above....

Get an H4 hid kit. I have a philips 6000k hid kit in mine. Light output is great and it has a nice white/purple hue tint to them. They dont look ricey at all and if your willing to spend the money you should definately consider it. Especially because there is a group deal going on for hid's and eventhough its not philips i heard that they are made of good quality.

Philips does not make any aftermarket HIDs w/ halogen based bulbs, its all a gimmick.
The ballasts may say philips on them, but not the bulbs which are 99% made in china.(Quality is getting better.)
Just a tip:
LVQ-212 = German Philips.
LVQ-212L300 = Taiwan Philips.

Try investing in a Hi-Lo H4 HID kit with a bulb that retracts, not a halogen bulb on top of a HID H4 xenon capsule.($430-700) Compared to $200-400 for just low beam H4 HID kits

Thanks for all the info. Are the 2k2's bi-xenon. I'm thinking maybe I'll just drop the 550 for a set off ebay. I think I could probably sell my AE's, which would lower the overall cost. Anyone need a set of AE's?
