Suspension (Coilover) question

well I just recently purchase my 00 Max and Ive been going thru pages and pages (no search function for me ..Yet..)

Anyways Just wanted to see everyones opinion ,whos has them or heard.

which top coilovers you guys would choose over?

D2 Pros and Cons

JIC FLT a1 or a2 Pros and Cons

Tein Pros and Cons

I wanted to just drop the car with springs but doesnt seem like any springs with make the car tuck.

My last car was a u13 altima after 10 years of boosting and having the car slammed (waiting for the D2s at the alty.site) I finally gave up and Brought the Maxi.

Ive read up on the D2s and the noise that seem to be bothering others.
I really want to go for the tuck look without giving up the nice ride.Im pretty sure with 60k miles that I will need struts soon.I just wanted to get some more opinions 1st before decideing on the Brand.Seems like JIC and D2 are popular but I havent heard much about Teins. anyways thanks in advance for any comments and opinions.

D2 Pros and Cons
-good service from urbanimports (although there are other distributors), all the goodies for half the price of a2's, 36 way adjustable
-cheap flimsy brake line bracket, poorly designed rubber gaskets, some slight error in factory assembly for front coilovers (all easily fixable)

JIC FLT a1 or a2 Pros and Cons
-a1's less adjustability than the a2's, great design, engineering, and factory assembly, a1 8 way adjustable, a2 16 way adjustable (IIRC)
-JIC service from personal experience is absolutely horrible, rebuilds will be pricey when the time comes

Tein Pros and Cons
-has a EDFC (electronic dampening force controller) OPTION
-no pillow ball mounts, no monotube design, and I believe no camber plates

The noise issue with D2s is almost always going to be self inflicted from an installation. I think only one maybe two people actually had a bad strut that was replaced quickly. The Design is a little different from the JICs and the JICs are a little easier to adjust for height (especially front) but the designs are very similar and the cost is very different.

I don't think I have seen anyone with the TIEN setup yet, so most people here have gone with the D2s or JICs. You can also check with Cattman, I know they were looking at some Coilover designes a couple months back, not sure if they found something they were going to push. ( I am pretty sure it was cattman I saw asking for testers)

I'm not that familliar with the TEIN or the JIC designs. The biggest advantage of the D2 design is that it allows you to shorten the strut body. So you can lower the car *and* keep the suspension travel. Most other designs, loose suspension travel as you lower the car.

JIC's and D2's both maintain suspension travel when lowered. I have absolutely no noise now with my D2's and thats even driving on some $hitty Arkansas roads. I keep hearing about this "squishy" noise that is common with the JIC's. I didn't think noise should common, unless the radio is on? Unless you have a pocket full of money your wanting to burn, I'd go with the D2's.

I just got JIC's a-1's and I love them so far. I have heard the d2's are also good though and a lot cheaper. but JIC has lifetime warranty so no expensive rebuilds.

Are you sure that warranty is on the strut? or just the coilover components? Since the replacement dampeners or Struts are $220, I bet its just on the coilover. I belive the dampener for the D2 is like $100.

Contact UrbanImports. I know they dont have them over $1,000. Ebay is NOT always the best place to get a price. Check the group deal section. There is also a guy in California that was listing D2s for $700.

Or you can try to find some Toser's (VERY VERY rare) like i found on ebay. Got them for $650 and they are designed the same as the d2's and JIC's and are 16 way adjustable. I have been very happy with them.
