resetting the ECU

I know this has been spken about before, and no im not a donating member so i cant search (how do i get you guys some cash BTW?)

anyway... how do i reset the ECU? what are the effects? does it have anythign to do with the way the transmission reacts?

also (off topic) how do i get an icon next to my name ?

I just had to reset my 03 the other day. I used this link: http://maxima.theowensfamily.com/ecu.asp
It took me a couple of times to get the sequence down, but I finally got it to work. I had to reset mine because the SES light came on after I cleaned my TB. However, if your problem is still there, the SES light will return.
You can go to a store like Auto Zone and they can pull the code for you for free to see if your tranny is messed up.
