Which taillights do you like better? *pics*

I made a custom set of taillights this past week. I used the ones from ebay and painted them with the red taillight spray paint you guys have been using on your oem's. Let me know what you guys think. Sorry for the dirty car.
I'm thinking that they are ok for right now; they might look better on a different color but in the spring when I get my windows tinted I'm going to lightly spray tint the taillights with niteshades and possibly my rear side markers.

eh, still too altezza like for me, but better with no orange. you didnt paint the center of the circles, or is that the reflection? maybe now if you smoked the remaining clear (kinda like the 01 SEs that i have, but no white signal, red signal). if you smoked everything where its clear now (except the reverse) you would still look pretty good, and the dark tails look bangin on grey luster.

I like the red, but I'm not feeling the clear center reflector...is that just a reflection?

That rectangular reflection has always confused me. It shows up in my photos too, and I don't know the point of that rectangle being there. And I think I like the all red tails...even though I am partial to amber signals.

I like the OEM 2k3 Tails painted to match and not the ones off of Ebay. I would show you what mine look like but the pics I have aren't that great.

Were those the all clear ones off of Ebay? If so, then good job painting them.

Neither.... but if I had to choose the lesser evil... I'd take the bottom pic (all reds) but preferably without the white rectangle.....

I still like my 5th Gen dark SE tails better....

Yeah, I can't stand the orange. Thats why I have the red. And yes they are the completely clear from ebay. I painted the centers red. And with painting the factory ones you can tell the bottom are a different color red than the top.

the bottom one without that reflector thing, but i think you mentioned it only shows in pictures. Anyways, what would be cool is if the housing underneath it were painted gunmetal or a darker gray to black color. That would be hot!

I wouldn't have painted the bottom red. I'd have left it clear. And yeah, that rectangle is just a reflector.

How about the GXE tails (the ones that are all red, with white for the reverse only I think) on Sterling Mist? How would that look vs. the chrome OEM SE tails...which I often think look too altezza already.

I like the looks of the bottom one. But anything without the orange is a plus. That rectangle is evident on many taillights I see. An OEM creation.

Swap them for the 00-01 SE tail lights. The 02-03 tails look horrible.

I think the tails on the 5.5 are the best of the 3 made. They got better each time. 00 GXE UGLY, 00-01 SE look great on black cars, 02-03 look good on lighter color cars. So I'm pretty sure like I said in the spring when I get my windows tinted are 35% I'm gonna smoke the taillights.

Not to be off topic and all, but that muffler is the ugliest I ever seen. It just not right, its to big, to far out, and plain dirty. A muffler like that make the car look bad. Sorry for jumping topics but I just had to say it.

Yes, thanks for pointing out that my mechanic did a horrible job of the install as he claims people like having them stick out. And I messed up on the purchase. I thought I had ordered the PT1011 when in fact I ordered the PT1012. And had planned on buying the PT1011 and getting it installed when I lost my job and ALL of my funds for anything other than paying bills dried up. So yeah, thanks for noticing.

Sorry for the post, but I know the feeling. I had the PT1011 on my car for the two days, and took it off. It was aiming to the right, and plus I had a little drone at 2000-2500 rpm. If you like that style muffler, buy a Frankencar catback, or go with Cattman catback. Or do what I did, FC rear section( fiancé name for muffler), along with custom b-pipe without a res.

BTW, if my mechanic did that to my car, I would have bent his neck out of place...(Big dudes like me, makes kind of stuff easy)...LOL

IMO, the black ones would look better if you painted those on the inside....

That was my plan all along and i still haven't received the tails after 2 months so I cancelled them.
