I'm sorry to hear about your wife, I didn't mean to be an A-hole about you not getting a shifter.

Don't worry about it at all, I am just happy that I have my wife and we get to enjoy our first Christmas together and especially not to be in a hospital!! So I am actually writing a Santa's list for her to see what she can get me for Christmas

I just installed mine last night. It works great. I noticed it moved the shifter a little foward. Has anyone else noticed this? No big deal though, my shifts are more smoother and a lot shorter. Thanks HP!

Yes, it moves the shifter forward a bit. I like that feature as much as the reduction in throw. Now I don't hit my elbow against the seatback. I've been thinking about how to move it forward for a while. Bending the stick wasn't an option due to the reverse lockout.

For anyone who's on the fence about this product. It works flawlessly. I would highly recomend it.

installed it in the home depot parking lot after i picked up locktite.

Took me about 12 minutes including the drive there, buying the stuff, and installing it.

Do i get the new record ? ; ).

It rocks. 1st to 2nd is so quick oh man. It revs so quick i didnt even realize when i was downshifting i ended up back in second, and it lost like no revs, i ended up hitting the redline, i was like wtf, OH im in 2nd. DAMN

going through the gears is a breeze. I definatly think this shaves a bit off the 0-60. Downshifts are amazing as well!

Marc.

Do we get any kind of an order confirmation? I ordered and noted the price difference but I've received no indication that my order is placed (email is what I guess I was expecting), or that the price is $149 instead of $179. Any insight?

Thx.

Got mine today. It fit in my little apt p.o. box easily (it's about the size of a can of coke). I think I hold the record for the longest install ~ maybe 8 min.

Pop hood, find flashlight, position flashlight, shove arms in engine bay, lean arm on radiator, get burned on radiator, drop wrist pin, pick up wrist pin, fumble with bracket (one hand was holding flashlight at this point), double over because of leg cramp, position bracket, go and get the right wrench, reposition bracket, tighten screw til it seats, and finally feel the shorter throw

i felt like i was in a 3 stooges skit or something. guess I was too excited

and it does seem like the car pulls faster because of the shorter shift time...maybe it's just the placebo affect and it's all in my head

That wont be a problem. Just Paypal us the 149 and we will ship via Postal and mark "gift" on the box.

Got mine yesterday. Arms and hands were too big to fit in the hole above so I took off the air box (not the quickest of jobs), pulled the pin, dropped it, found it, put the piece on, took it off, put it back on correctly, pushed the pin in, tightened the bolt, remembered to put the air box back on, realized the install of the air box is a pain and wished I had a WAI or something a bit less bulky to put on, tightened everything back up on the air box, and then played with the throws. This all took about 35 minutes and the tools required were: flat blade screwdriver, 10mm wrench, 10mm socket, 1' extension (for the bolt nearest the battery on the air box), 3/8" rachet, pliars. Had I have had a CAI, WAI, or no air box (or smaller hands / arms), it would have taken 5 minutes, a 10mm wrench, and a pair of pliars (for the pin).

Not that bad of an install, all in all. The results were worth 5 times the effort put in, however!

Thanks HP!

Will this work on a 5-spd 2001?

I'm extremely interested in this product but did not see anything that says this will or will not work in a 2001 SE 5-spd. The HP autoworks web page says 00-03 in the description, but the line below the picture says it's for 02-03 maximas.

Kind of redundant at this point, with all the other testimonials, but I wanted to add my thanks to HP. Received the part today and installed it in about 3 minutes. The shorter throw is very noticeable and despite my initial doubts, it totally makes my drive more enjoyable. I'm a little scared that after a while I'll get used to it and take it for granted. But for now, I'm all smiles. thanks again.

if sales are such a success at this price, why raise the price (just curious).

It seems to me like quite the success : ]

Nice STS

HPAutoworks,

Thank for such a good product.

I did have some doubts initially when i took the part right out of the shipping box. But once installed - it is a big improvement over stock. I am very happy with this STS shifter and would highly recommend it .

What I meant was that the first wave of STS were for you guys on the boards, we might go back to the regular sale price, which is still the cheapest around.
