Questions on punkdork's speakers swap out...
#1
i want to change the stock speakers out and i was wondering if that is the only way to do it? from the looks of it.. it seems like you have to ruin the stock speakers just to use the bracket... is there a bracket that can be purchased to preserve the stock speaker?
has anyone ever ordered some speakers from crutchfield because they say they do give you all the necessary accessories for a clean install. thanks

1. You can buy 6 3/4s and they will fit with no bracket.
2. The bose speakers use removable brackets which can be purchased from your dealer.
Let us know if you can confirm either of these to be true.

If you get really low profile speakers, you may be able to mount them directly to the frame. This would work better than the plastic brackets that would probably resonate and rattle...

Didn't take that many pictures of the install cause my thatch roof garage started leaking when it rained really hard yesterday.

here's the before and after...

Used 2 screws to hold it down. W/ hi bass, there'd be mad vibrations comin' about.

I used inch thick wood and PCI/AGP unused-slot covers for the brackets. Also used automotive/marine weatherstripping for the door and the removed panel.

while we're at it. what's this wire running along the rearseat/trunk opening? might it be the wire for the bose sub? I didn't get the C&C package.
