Xtec H3 with Projector housing Help<---
Just got mine Xtec 6000K H3 kit yesterday and tried to install by my self.
I found out that even though my projector housing takes H3 bulb, but the
power male plug is still H4 (3 pin), but the ballast of Xtec female slot is for H3
(2 pin).
Any idea to solve this problem, any H4-->H3 plug convertor ??

I don't have any help, but I'd really like to see the results when you finish. I also have the projectors and have always wondered what HIDs would look like in them. Please post pics when you finally get things work out.

Propogation of a random idea without proof is just another way the internet is fast becoming a wasteland of no information at all.
Before posting, consider a search through google for some proving documentation supporting your hypothesis, you'll learn something fun, and you'll know what to say.
HIDs inside projector housings GENERALLY do not blind anything, they make the extreme light output of HID MUCH BETTER due to the focus of the projector
I'm not an expert on lighting, just an experienced user Those look quite good to me

So my question is now that the hid kit is installed in the projectors is it better than the halogen and does it look bad in your opinion?
Would you do it again? How much and where did you get the hids?

My question through the use of the internet and written literature, is why do they make a D2R and a D2S capsules if it doesn't matter on the housing? And what happens when you put a D2S capsule in a reflector housing? The answer is simple....... glare and poor beam pattern. Now with state laws banning HID placement in non HID housings that aren't DOT approved is illegal. I get enough speeding tickets as it is. I don't really want to add fuel to the fire. My headlights are DOT approved with 4300K bulbs, all the other colors are not approved by the DOT. My fogs are illegal but I can turn those off and still drive with my headlights. Also I would like to see the beam pattern on the road and compare the ground coverage with my pics above. The beams on the garage door aren't really convincing to me to determine effectiveness. Try to take a pic from above the car so we can see the total beam cutoff

Any updated photos with the beam pattern on the road instead of the garage? I would
like to pursue this route and would greatly appreciate photos of your finished setup...
Does anyone know where I can find the write-up for replacing those weak LED bulbs in these projectors?
Much appreciation.

how would any cop know what projector housings are HID approved? my guess as a cop would be that any projector would be HID approved since most HID's are put behind projectors... it seems that the only two companies that did not put HID's behind projectors are Nissan and Acura. i have the auto-leveling projector HID's on my 04 Saab 9-3 and they are great... i hope that someone comes out with a factory replacement system with auto-leveling projectors for the maxima....

I think what he means is that NONE of these aftermarket projectors are DOT legal as HID. All a cop has to know is that a, say, 2000 Maxima does not have OEM HIDs and that is enough. Remember, when he runs your plates, he knows the year of your car.

I got pulled over for my stock headlights on my 03 earlier this year because the officer thought i swapped them. He insisted that my car did not come with the zenon lights until i showed him that it came that way in the manual. This was in VA Beach BTW.

Why not just buy some projectors (MDX) for 50 a pair and you will have a perfect beam pattern and cuttoff. I would never plop a HID KIT into those headlights. Then again, I would never of bought a 'kit'. OEM is the way to go.
