Question regarding fuel injection..

Hey, guys. Well, the other day my SES light came on. I immediately went to Advance and had the code pulled. It was P0174. I looked on the sticky here and it said "Fuel Injection System Too Lean (Bank 2). Has anyone pulled this code before? My questions are what exactly could this mean and how serious is it? I have a 2000 SE with about 75,000 miles on it. Thanks for any info!

there are alot of potential things to look at. the most likely candidate is the maf since alot of people have pulled that code aling with P0171 (the opposing bank) and cured it through replacing the maf. other possibilities are air intake leaks, faulty injector, lack of fuel, incorrect fuel pressure or primary o2 sensor for that bank.

If it is the MAF (I guess I'll have to call Nissan and find out), do you think it would be expensive to fix? I have the Elite Plus warranty until 100,000 miles, so it may be covered.

Check your Emissions Warranty info.

I had the same code. Intalled new mass air meter about a month ago and the code is gone. Less than $100 bucks and easy to install yourself.

rdking, if you don't mind me asking, where did you purchase the mass air meter? I don't know that much about cars, so would it be difficult for me to install it myself? Thanks.
