cheesy accidental non-mod maintenance mod(?)
Hmm....had some recent squeakyness from my front brakes for no apparent reason so decided to take them off and clean everything and use that compound on the shims....
Instead of using that blue stuff that comes in a tube I got some spray-on stuff that seemed easier. Coated the shims both sides...
long story short.....
1. the squeaking is gone (thankfully)
2. the coating turns red when it dries (who knew?) and give a kind of ricey, kind of cheesy, kind of interesting (I guess) look to the calipers (or at least the back of the shims). Looks kind of funny, but the squeak is gone so I'm not touching the brakes again...
Yes, I have nothing better to talk about at the moment while watching football

cool.. i did a mini mod on my car too ... while i had the the lower part of drivers dash off. dicided to swap the heated stearing wheel button with the auto/maual seat seat button. 
couldnt see the steering wheel heat button now i do .. it was on the right now its on the left. blah blah at least u r watching the game .. i am stuck at work

My calipers are painted. Non-ricey black. Like I said, the red was unintentional (didn't know that the spray would come out red!), but the brake squeal is gone, so I'm not going to mess with the brakes any more I'll just deal with the little tiny bit of red there.....
Joel - we can use that G2 paint of yours and paint that big Greddy muffler tip red....you can get double the rice in the same place j/k!
btw...the red is much darker in person...the flash of the camera made it brighter.
Yeah SKINS!!! We beat those pitiful Giants. Now...if we could just beat another team...
