Like the title says. Just started today. It was fairly cold at -10 C but I don't remember having this problem last winter. I'm thinking it might be the resonator in the muffler. I still have the original factory one. The car has about 73,000 kms on it.

 

Some more infor. It's more of a vibrating sound than a rattle. It also appears to disappear at higher RPMs and speed. Typically the sound is heard when the car is traveling at less than 60 kph and the tach reads less than 2000.

 

I am interested in this also. Mine has the same thing...

 

I had similar rattling sound when accelerating (under load). I changed my ignition coils, and problem went away.

 

Mine did it last year but the only difference is that I have a warpspeed "b" pipe. My car only did this when it was very cold outside (under 30 degrees F). It only happened under slow acceleration and went away when the car warmed up. It turned out that one of my rubber hangers near where the catalytic convertor and "b"pipe connect was streched out slightly. I replaced the factory rubber hanger with a stronger one and the problem went away.

 

False alarm! We found a foreign object in the engine bay...

 

what kind of foreign object? i kept finding walnuts and stuff in my cars and that made some funny noise sometimes.
