signal light question
hey! i got a pair super white "1156" signal light from auto zone for my 2000 max ( cali spec) rear signal... how come it doesn't fit? and the guy told me the number show 1156 in the computer and that's the right bulb for my car...weird..anyone know about this? i tried both sides and couldn't pust it down...

i think the bulbs are 7443, not 1156..also, 1156 is a single filament bulb. For the rear signals, you will need a dual filament bulb, which comes on when parking lights are on and when you brake. I think the 1156 may have been for the reverse light, but I might be mistaken.

if you look close the 1156 has poles that oppose each other 180 degrees apart. You'll notice the bulb that came out of your car has it's indexing poles about 270 degrees apart, not straight across. Nissan only has them in amber, i'm am still working on what we could use to replace it, if anyone has any info, please post.

hey man, i had the EXACT same problem as you. i bought oem-style SE tails for my 2K2, and i ran out to wal mart when i was halfway done (cuz i forgot to get them ahead of time) and the Sylvania book said size 1156A, but that didnt fit. so i came back and checked the bulb charts on here, everything said 1156A. i started to get annoyed, and i looked at the back of one of my tail lights, it said "7057". well, there is no such size bulb, BUT there is a "7507". so i went to 3 or 4 different stores and FINALLY found a 7507 size bulb. its slightly different because the 2 little ***** that stick out the side, to lock it into place, are not directly across from each other. the 1156A has them at like, a 3 and 9 o'clock. the 7507 has them at a 9 and 4 o'clock.
check around and buy a 7507 bulb, i bet you that will fit. unfortunately, so far i have NOT found a hiper white bulb that fits that size yet.

when i did this i just filed one of the pegs off. on 6-8 months now and no problems. these are just for fitment and the bulb will stay in place fine. im not sure about teh 7507 bulb ^^^^^ but if you want to go that route make sure the voltage and wattage are identical.

yup, looks good to me! nice find too, i may have to jump on some of those. thats just what it looks like on mine anyway, im pretty sure yours is the same.
haha, did anyone notice in that auction they show the pics of the 2 bmws after changing the bulbs? but they show them before with amber corners and stock tails, and after with clear corners and the "sport" tails
i checked autolumination, they have more of a selection, but they are using the same idiotic BMW picture comparison. i THINK ive ordered from them before for some piaa bulbs.

If you have the SE tails made for '00-'01, the correct rear amber/turn signal bulb # is "PY21W". Philips usually make these and they are sold outside the U.S. I had to buy a set of these because the 1156 bulb does NOT fit. Actually the PY21W is OEM for these tails. I'm not sure where I bought these, since this was a long time ago, but if you put this bulb number in Google, it will come up where you can purchase these. I'm not sure if they make them in Super White, just amber.

The rear taillight is an 1156A bulb...the standard 1156 will not fit because I am guessing the A stands for ANGLED. The 1156 bulbs from autolumination will fit, but it takes a little bit of work to get it in there. Oh, and since both poles do not make contact they will blink quickly since the car thinks the bulb is out. But I;ve already had 3 people ask me about them and tell me how much they like them, so is it worth it? He!! yes

I have been looking for the # on these lights for a while now.
Dont even try anything with the 1156 or 1156A or any of that bull***t. They dont fit and if they do you will have to wedge them in and almost break your housing.
Hopefully the 7507 or 7577 will work and look good too!
