Chances of Nissan NA Goodwill for Coils on a 2k
Here is the deal, 2k Max (50k miles) that needs the coils replaced. I called Nissan NA to see if there is any chance of them covering the bill under Goodwill. In order for them to consider it at all you have to have an open ticket at the dealer.
So I would have to pay the dealer $80 to tell me that the coils are bad and open a ticket. Now if Nissan NA doesn't cover it I am out an extra $80 on top of the $300+ for the coils.
Has anyone successfully had this done, is it worth the risk of losing $80???

I dont think you should pay them 80 to open a ticket for you just because the stories that a lot of org members here have told are pretty bad. When it comes to Coils and Bose Nissan doesnt really give you any goodwill. Its up to you if you dont care about the $80 then go ahead, but if you want to save time and maybe a headache might as well just pay for new coils.

I tried to get them to cover a different well known problem on our '02 SE/SC Xterra and nothing happened there so I should probably just take care of it my self.

ive had goodwill from my dealer once with my rotors. i brought the car in since they were warped again and they informed since they were cut before that they would have to be replaced. i bought my only other car and my sister's two xterras from there as well. they said since they pads still had plenty of life they would replace the front rotors at no cost as a sign of goodwill. never had to call NA or put any money towards the repair. if you dont have a good relationship with the dealer then i would just buy the coils yourself and replace them.
