2k2 Maxima with A Temperature Problem

I have taken my car in to the dealer for a pinging problem and they diagnosed it as the car is getting slightly warmer than usual. They changed the Temp Sensor & thermostat saying that will fix the problem...hell no!! Same problem after but now it appears to me the temp guage fluctuates. When I explain this to Nissan, they say it is normal for the temperature to go up and down....in other words they would not touch the car. Someone said to me the radiator must be clogged.
If anyone has a digital image of what the normal temperature looks like, I would really appreciate it as I can do a comparison. I still feel that the guage stays at one point whether you are driving or just parked.

Thanks!!

I have 02. Had it for a year and put 15k on it. Once warmed up, temp gauge is just slightly, and i mean slightly Colder then 1/2. It is almost a 1/2, but just a little bit colder then 1/2.
My 97 altima is the same way.

I had a 87 Jetta once and it had all kinds of cooling issues. It could be your heater core plugged up. Also, did they check the fans? Are both of them kicking in? Mine kick in about 1 min after I stop and leave motor running (and that's in 40 degree weather). Somethinkg might be wrong with switch/relay that engages the fans. Also, arent there two coolant sensors, one on the engine block and one on the radiator?

That's not normal at all. If you look close on your temp guage you'll see a little white dot. That's where the needle should stay once warmed up. Take it back and get it diognosed right, the last thing you need is a blown head gasket because of overheating.

I am having the same type of problem. I have a 2002 Maxima GLE. I replaced my radiator with an aftermarket radiator. Now I noticed that the cooling fans come on after a couple of minuets of driving. They come on even when the engine is running cool. We are having 30 degree weather but they still come on and won''t shut off automatically. Normally after a long drive they come on and then will cut off after the engine temp is cooled down, but now they come on and stay on. I changed the # 1 and 3 relay. I changed the temp sensor. Checked all the fuses . New thermostat. Flushed the radiator. Any Ideas.

Could be the aftermarket radiator doesn't have the same number of tubes as the OEM or the cooling system wasn't bled properly after it was installed.
