Bad struts. aftermarket route cheaper?

I have had a bad front passenger strut since august and the shop told me the part from napa is $255 for one strut I am just wondering can't you get aftermarket adjustable struts for cheaper? I was thinking i would replace all of them at once. What is a good brand? Dumb question but.. Will adjustable struts allow you to drop the vehicle too?

go with tokico blues or illuminas depending on how much you want to spend. Check the group deal section out.

It is the springs in the struts that drop the vehicle - not the fact that the struts are adjustable.

Most of the time, the struts have to be replaced but there is nothing wrong with the spring inside and it is not replaced. Springs and struts are typically sold separately.

I'd check directly with Napa if you want to keep stock because that price sounds too high. On the other hand this is the opportunity to upgrade both struts and springs and get a drop as well.

I have tokiko adjustables and eibach springs combo and like them. Not too extreme but definitely better handling than stock - of course it is a stiffer ride. Nice drop - you wouldn't know it is dropped unless you know maximas - but it eliminates the wheel gap.

There are a few threads around comparing the different setups.
