Hey Guys I pulled this code (P0300 - Multiple Cylinder Misfire Detected) today after the service engine soon light came on. I'm guessing this has to do with the coils??? If so how long are coils covered under warranty?

ive seen a few people get it covered under powertrain up to 60k but most were only covered 3yr/36k. most likely is the coils since it mulitple misfire. you havent changed or had the plugs changed recently have you?

Yea I actually changed the plugs last month. I got a code saying a misfire on cylinder 2 so I decided to go ahead and change the plugs. Once I did the SES light went off and hadn't come back on till today.

hmmmm. I don't think it would be the plugs (or I hope not), they are brand new. It's at the dealership right now, so I guess I'll know what it is later today.

shouldnt be the plugs if they are ngk and the gap either wasnt set correctly or came out the factory spec. let us know what it is.

It's most likely do to an air leak or bad MAF.

You'll get that code from running lean at idle with an air leak. Check all of the intake plumbing for tightness, then clear the code. If it comes back I would then look at the MAF, the coils would be the last thing to look at.

I set the gap correctly so it shouldn't be that. I also checked all the intake plumbing last night. Everything was good. I guess it may be a bad MAF. Hopefully the dealership will call soon.

This is the list of possible causes from the FSM.

* Improper spark plug
* Insufficient compression
* Incorrect fuel pressure
* The injector circuit is open or shorted
* Injectors
* Intake air leak
* The ignition secondary circuit is open or shorted
* Lack of fuel
* Drive plate or flywheel
* Heated oxygen sensor 1
* Incorrect PCV hose connection

Also check the PCV.

The dealership just called and said it could be a number of things. They said they checked everything and it's all cool so they just cleared the code. Hopefully it won't come back on.
