welll if they do put in a new tranny... i was planning on asking them if they can do a manual tranny swap... i have warranty on the car... so either way... they are still goin to fix the car regardless for free from my understanding... but i was wondering that i can throw in that idea of having it manual... but it's jus an idea... i don't no of any problems they wood come across into doing this
it would cost more money to swap everything out. I had a transmission replaced on an old honduh and i was wondering the same thing..but the way it worked for me was because it was automatic..i got an automatic..if i wanted manual..it would cost alot more.
i'm assuming that if you did ask them for a swap they would tell you that swapping isn't under the warrenty and would cost u the full price of a replacment and a swap where fixing the auto would be free.

Sorry to hear that. Should be able to get it fixed. I was considering the tranny swap but decided to stay w/ automatic. There was actually a recall on 98' maximas purchased from my dealer at that time (2002) due to tranny issues. Good luck though.
to do the auto to manual swap wouldnt one need the trans, slave cylinder, all hard and soft lines, ecu, pedal assembaly, clutch flywheel, axels(not sure about axels)shifter, boot, ****, etc..... the way i figure it wouldnt the parts alone be over $4000 PLUS labor??????
