Anyone have the wrench for the HID "security bolts"

it was those 4 star shaped bolts with the hex star key with the hole in it that timW sold back in the days...

Does anyone have a spare one laying around or a way to get a hold of tim...
hes not here or the g35 boards anymore...

any help is appreciated.
thanks

nope...those are the "security" torx bits...Sears doesn't have them, I tried. (it's the same type that was on the actual sensor part of the MAF) You can find a set online somewhere...I think I saw overstock was selling them a while back, but the "security" deal means the stealership doesn't want you messing with it because they want to charge you...

Then they are torx because that's what is used on the MaF sensor part as stated, , I have a set, they come in handy, usually on American cars, (GM), but I guess I'm glad I have them now with the 03.

I bought one of the last sets Tim was selling, but never installed them. I'll look around to see if I can maybe find them.

Regular 8 sided socket from sears of the right size works just fine.

I needed one of those security torx bits for my previous car - picked up the one I needed at AutoZone for a few bucks. Call around to your local auto parts stores before going through the hassle of ordering a whole set online.

You guys suck at e-Sleuthing. I'm all over FreshAlloy and G35 driver. I'm hiding as one of the G35 mods as Timware. or as Timw on other boards

Some of you PM'd me here (or found me). I think I answered all the questions.

Its called a Tamperproof Torx Security T-27. its metric and rarely stocked locally. If anyone needs help with those bolts, just let me know..

Word. I got a whole set of security/regular torx bits at my local hardware store for around $10. You can find them all over if you just look around a little.

Yup, sometimes you need to get offline and go to actual stores.
