Data dots recall

I live in the northeast where cool people like to steal our head lights so i had the data dots recall done a few weeks ago and i was really thinking about clearing out my lights and instaling angel eyes how much harder will this be to do now and whill the baking effect anything that they might have instaled on the lights themselves?

So you're worried about people stealing your headlights and clearing them just draws more attention? Seems a bit counter-productive to me.

Actually I can see where clearing them *might* help, because the thieves are looking for something very specific. If they don't see the orange they may pass it up thinking it's not equipped with HID.

....it's a stretch, but I don't think clearing them would draw more attention from anyone other than another maxima owner.

edit: fixed typo

I agree with 2k2kev. Cleared out headlights may deter thieves who are try to steal to a more "general" market (i.e. eBay). Unless the thieves are specifically looking for cleared out headlights, they my pass on them. The same goes for blacked out housings. Unless they are modders, most people aren't looking for blacked out lights. Besides, they look aftermarket.

You guys might have a point, esp since customized head lights are probably harder to sell, but I'd tend to think HIDs are HIDs and they'd take em anyway, esp if its as easy as it seems... if there are DDEs on em, and if that's something they know about, even better, that's an extra couple bucks to try to gain. I know that ya can't tell when the lights are off, but I'm sure some of these thieves are lurking and watching. Plus with the Auto function, the HIDs take a while to go off...plenty of time for a potential thief to figure out that it is a HID....

ease up, he doesn't even realize what a great problem it was, also he only got 19 posts. Alot of people may feel the brackets make them "safe" then feel it's ok to mod them.

Truth be told, they are taken DDES, cleared out, or not. Never underestimate the thieves determination.

Yet, they can look cool before they get stolen (if and when they do). Thats why we got insurance, and the deductable aint a big thing, i had mine taken last semester. If it happens again, i'll just get another set. Can't live worrying about what might happen, people are getting too paranoid about this.

The datadots aint a big deal if you have a lift, or ramp to get under and remove the brackets.

He's asking if the data dots will get messed up if he bakes the headlights...what are you talking about?

i read the question wrong.

woops. My comment still makes sense though about you guys discouraging from doing the mods. I dont think the actual datadots mean anything anyways, i don't know about anyone getting prosecuted because of them personally.

I'm mad tired, don't mind me(goes back to his hole).
