Today....not my day!

Just thought I would share my frustration with some who might appriciate my pain!

So I'm driving home (225mile round trip) from a job site on the NJ Turnpike, in the left lane when a see this dirt/sand all over the road the next thing I see is this bolder (large rock like aprox 4x5) bouncing in the middle lane right for my car. I hear this tremendous bang and I'm thinking the worse. So I just continue on driving what's the point of stopping to look.

About 10 miles later another object manages to find it's way into my lane and I hear another object hit the max.

Now I've never had such a big rock hit my car while driving and today was a 1st & 2nd because by this time driving in the cars only lane another big rock hits my car and I'm just losing it, I cursed my friend out on the phone then told him my story.

I just couldn't believe my luck tonight and all this happened on the way home!

Oh yeah actually didn't look too bad. This was at night but I'll know better tomorrow. I do notice a dent on the middle of the hood and marks where something hit it.

Damn bro! Sorry to hear that! Any damage to ur car?
If there is... u should file a claim and try to get some money from the Highway authorities... Its goin to be hard... but try it...
They are supposed to make sure that the roadways are safe to travel!
let us know how things work out for u!

The damage was minor from what I saw tonight, it was dark though and my car needs a wash. The hood is what sucks, but it's one of those angle dents- the ones you need to look at, at an angle.

I don't think I have the stamina to ague about getting money for it. It was weird the first rock looked like it fell from a dumptruck but I only saw tractor trailors. The second was in the cars only section.

Sucks... sorry to hear that, I hope ya get everything fixed okay with not too great of a cost... worst I've had happen is a truck drop an orange cone in between 2 lanes, while I was changing lanes of course, I ran over it, tearing out the splash guard and leaving a slight dent at the bottom of the bumper...

Weirdness. I saw the same crap happen yesterday on BQE. I was in the first lane and saw a piece of a cinder block just pop out from underneath a mini-van. Obviously the mini-van in front of me hit the monstrosity but I managed to carefully swerve out of its way. The mini-van pulled over after it happened.

I would have been livid... I would have gotten hit by another car since I would have jumped out of my car, been hoopin' and hollerin' in the middle of the freeway and BAM. I am hit by a car.

Hate to hear this. It tears at my heart every time I hear myself hit something with my car.

The other day I was on my way home from school (I teach 4th grade, so my nerves are pretty whack as it is) and all of a sudden in the pitch darkness my Silverstars spot bales of hay on the freeway. Naturally, I was the leader of the pack and I start swerving (kinda fun in retrospect), and you would think it was a dodgeball game when all the headlights behind me started to swerve...craziness... I had hay in my foglights and all in my grill and underbody... not fun removing it.

That what I dread, when i see flying object towards me or falling out on the road, i tend to swerve or avoid it at all possible. I don't want my car get damaged, i pamper my baby.
