Okay guys flame away, but i understand everything except what is a "test" pipe?

 

just a straight pipe that replaces the catalytic converter portion of your exhaust system

 

Um...I have cattman headers and I'm sure they will provide much better gains than a y-pipe. My de-k feels like it will pull hard much past the redline. You also drop a lot of weight since the oem headers are cast iron, IIRC +-30lbs. They look great under the hood as well. I'm more than happy with the overall outcome.

 

I had a dyno day a few weeks back
me 5th gen (5spd, ecu, intake, y-pipe)
vs
friend 5th gen (5spd, intake, cattman headers, cattman exhaust)

from 2-5k we are even in hp and tq. I have more hp and tq than him from 3500-4200 rpm but his power valve was broken, so I ended up putting out 10hp more after 5200 rpm

both dyno'ed at the same day, within 30 minutes of each other.

Considering I don't even have a catback, lightened flywheel, udp, or lightweight rims.....

 

I have stillen y,catback and intake from ebay. kept the B-pipe but I had to yank the muffler section, too loud for my taste -the drone frome 2.2-3.1K rpm while on the highway drove me nuts.

I think that the best setup = intake, Y & B pipe w/stock muffler
good performace gains, WOT has a real nice tone, but only slighlty louder otherwise.

 

im just saving up for a header/y pipe setup then ill be set cattamn headers

 

Why are you selling it? How much louder than stock does it sound?

 

Ive heard headers are very hard to install though unlike the exhaust stuff.

 

Sorry, I told it a month ago... I wanted a Frankencar or Cattman (I ended up getting Frankencar cuz it was cheaper) cuz the cops around here seem to ticket cars with "fart cans" much more than others... thought I'd go sleeper....

Its significantly louder than stock... it drones in the cabin too... but only till 2500 rpm.... I liked it... but it had to go...

 

Yup... they are... much more involved, takes much more time, and ya need to extend the O2 sensors and weld bungs for em into the b-pipe behind the cat....

 

Awww shieet homie, I just have mine dangling there behind the engine not doing anything. I'm letting the O2 simulator do its thing. No need to weld bungs or anything. They aint too hard to install, Cattman that is... I'ma try out some HS ones on a 3.0 and see if they really do suck to install.
