Door Open Warning Light malfunction

For some reason, on my 2000 Maxima, the door open warning light has recently started staying on even when all doors are closed. This has the side effect of interior lights staying on even when the ignition is off. Any ideas what could be causing this?

I am not sure what might be causing it to come on...but check your trunk maybe that could cause it to come on. Do you have an aftermarket alarm system?

The door pin switch is corroded and shorting out.

Or it may be sticking. Its not expensive to replace it. You just need to figure out which door.

No on the alarm system. I did check the trunk and it is also closed. Thanks for the suggestion though!

Thanks! It turns out the driver side pin switch was broken. I am guessing it may have been caused by the seatbelt getting caught in the door which happens on occasion.

Thanks for your help.
