O/D light flashing!?
O/D light flashing!?
So anyways it was 2:45am on the 101north-170north-5north-118west, so i decide no ones on the road for a good couple miles, so i smash the gas with O/D button engaged and didnt turn it off when it was coming near redline, so basically the car i guess hits its rev limiter and the O/D button kept flashing...did i do something wrong? or is that just a safety feature of somesort
hmmm....mine did the same today after i got stuck in snow. i was just spinning the tires and couldnt move. so i went inside for a while...when i came back out and started it the od light blinked until i put it in gear. then it went away
Are you sure it wasn't the traction control light? I don't have TC so I don't know how it works on the maximas but in my friends es300 if you floored it from a stop the TCS light would go on.
It comes and goes on the Corolla. When it does come on, I just keep O/D off in fear of it dying on me on the highway lol

uh the OD was on i believe OD does not allow the gearbox to go into 4th correct? i was doing 125 with the OD button on. and it was redline so if it didnt have anywhere to shift itll just bounce off the rev limiter right? or am i looking for the best scenario haha

unplugging the batt. for an hour will not reset the ecu. the codes will still be there... even if you unplug it for over a 24 hour period.

Perhaps it doesnt work that way on 2002+, but he's got an 2000 I30, and to reset a 2000 ECU you gotta unplug the battery for a few hours or so.
okay i dont think you guys understand what im trying to say, i left the OD on for a reason on the freeway, now just like when you put it into first and redline and hits the rev limit, it did the same thing but this time i had the OD button on, and when it did hit the limiter the O/D flashed.
