quick help needed

Guys, my car is over my GFs house right now and I can't get to the battery. Can someone with a garage or something measure their battery and tell me how tall it is from the tray up and width and lenght of it ? I'm trying to order a Optima battery for it- mine is on its last legs, Optima makes diff size batteries and I just wanna pick the right one. I am really interested in the Honda Civic, Acura Integra battery with 500 Cold cranking amps, which only weights 25lbs vs 60 !!! lbs of the stock battery. Can someone help a brother out ? Thanx alot ! Merry Xmas.

The Optima red top size that fit the maxima is 35-75 or 34R

just bought a Optima 34 online, as soon as the dimensions where given to me. I got the yellow top. I was going to get the Optima yellow 51R Honda battery and loose 40lbs in the process. But I was affraid my car might not wanna start in the cold, spring time comes around I will get a lighter battery for when I go road racing. Thanx for all the help.

how much does temperature affect the starting performance of the battery? I was wondering if I could run the honda 51R in my car out here in CA. And merry x-mas to everyone also

Temp change affects Cold Cranking amps by far the most. If you don't put the 51R in your car then I will in the warmer weather. For me when I start up my car it cranks very slow in the winter, and it takes a long time to get the tranny fluid to change from - almost solid state, to liquid. Another batt I would recomend is Wesco miata battery, its about 80 bux for one, it weights around 20lbs vs 60 of the stocker. It only has 475 CCA thou. Larry I seriously doubt it will get down to -10F in your area like it does in mine, I decided for now I need something dependable to get me started. Then I'm gonna do Wesco or Optima 51R for weight savings when going to the local road race track- Road America, or to the Maxima convention in TX this coming summer/fall.

Does the stock battery really weigh 60 lbs???? Mine doesn't feel like it is anywhere close to that. 40 . .. maybe.

its not that much of a weight savings. The optima red top for our maxima is 33 lbs and yellow top is 37 lbs.

i saw this battery before, (34) and the posts are set in toward the middle of the battery top as opposed to the stock battery for a 2K Max which has posts close to the sides.

the stock positive post connection for a 2K Max has a 90 degree angle which sits on the corner of the battery and is exactly the right distance to fit over the post which is close to the side. with the yellow top having the posts in an altogether different position, how would you get the positive connection to fit over the post for a 2K? anybody do this?

I know what you mean but I can improvise here, using some car audio power source supplies.

This is the batt that would work on our cars, just turn it around and it will fit. It gives up 70CCAs to the 34, and its little bit smaller than the 34, and about 5lbs lighter.

I got my battery from them, shipping it to me from WI was only like 6 bux and I will have it tomorrow I shopped around for a few hours trying to find dimensions of all optimas and specs on them, and I found the best deal on Ebay. I like dealing through Ebay the best, it gives me the piece of mind I got PayPal standing behind me if someone tries to f&*$ me over, and it happened- but I got my $$$ back thanx to PayPal and FBI

this one seems very good. it's only slightly down on amp hours and reserve minutes but otherwise it is identical to the 34.

I don't listen to my music with the engine off, when I do its not for a prolonged period of time. I don't have a very large system in the car- 2000W RMS power- but only use about 500 off it, so this with a capacitor will work just fine for me.

i noticed something curious about the battery on ebay...

the schematic above shows the NEGATIVE terminal on the left front corner of the battery but the battery pictured on ebay has the POSITIVE post in this position.

i read info from optima's site and they show the same schematic as above so my question is... what is the one pictured on ebay? it doesn't seem to be the one in the schematic.

beats me, eighter way it will work As long as the terminals are less than 1" away from the edge of the battery.

i guess i just think it is strange that they picture a battery that is not the D35. i emailed them about this so i'll see what they have to say.

i don't think the stock wiring will work with the one pictured on ebay because i noticed that on the 2K, there is not much play in the positive wire. i mean you would have to pull it forward to make it fit on the one pictured on ebay and i don't think you have the slack. what do you think?
