Bose CD Player Problems... Commom??

I briefly mentioned my problem in this thread: http://forums.maxima.org/showthread.php?t=365255
But since then I have done a bunch of testing and I feel this situation needs its own thread as I did not want to hijack the other one...

Anyways... Approximately two days ago I played a CD on my stereo for a neighbor who wanted to hear my system with two subs that I added. Needless to say, everything was picture perfect like the day I got the car. I currently listen to burned cds and some originals. Absolutely nothing was/is wrong with these cds as these are the same 4 i've had in the cd changer since i got the car... Today I detailed my interior and when I was done I decided to go on a drive and listen to some music. When I played my cd, I heard some sort of fuzz coming from the left channel speakers ONLY... I thought nothing of it but when the song started to play and the bass did not hit where it was supposed to I knew something was wrong. To make sure my amp was not wired improperly when I reinstalled it after detailing, I used the AM/FM tuner... Everything was fine... What is happening is that you can only really hear the right channel... the left is exteremly faint and the left channel is what carries the bass to the subs (mono)...

My question is.. Is there an ongoing problem with the Bose 6 disc changers. If there is a problem with my unit, is that covered under warranty?... When I purchased the car I extended it to 75,000 miles serviceable at any authorized nissan location... Does adding an amp with subs void this warranty? (When my speakers were installed there was NOTHING done to the head unit... THe only thing that was done was the stock sub lines were disconnected and put on a hi/lo converter... besides that NOTHING has been changed... Thanks in advance for any help regarding this matter...

Car: 2003 Maxima SE Titanium Ed. 6-spd.

i think warranty may be able to look at it, but mine had extended warranty etc, and they were charging me 500-600 so i just bought a head unit that plays mp3s and it plays stuff worth 9 cds...so it worked out.

Charging you 500-600 even under warranty? Jeez... What makes "extended" warranty different... My car has 36600 miles so im just over what comes from the factory so i guess i am under "extended" warranty as well...

Find a nice dealership and try to see if they'll cover it under warranty. You're just barely out...

When i baught the car i extended it.. supposedly bumper to bumper to 75,000 miles. I am going to phone up a dealer tomorrow to see what goes... Are these symptoms the same as others with the 6 disc changer..

edit: i baught the car with 35500 miles and extended the warranty when the car was STILL in warranty if that matters much...

Yes. You're describing the very same symptoms every one else gets; left speaker cut out. Who's your extended warranty provider? Call 'em up, see what they say.

what a problem... My extended warranty provider is in Atlanda, Georgia.. Specifically Team Nissan of Marietta. I baught the car from these people and when i got the warranty they said it was perfectly transferrable and useable at any authorized nissan dealer.. They are Autonation and so i will be giving the Maroone/Autonation dealers here in Miami a call... Thank you for the information

*If* I am not mistaken, there is a TSB (technical service bulletin) for the issue. Meaning, Nissan will likely fix it for free if you call them up first and tell them what's up.

do you Noobs know that there is more than 1 page on these forums? Read through 5 or so pages before posting redundant questions.

I know there are more than one page and I usually check. Sometimes to get quick responses I will just make a new thread. In this particular situation I was quite frustrated and looking for answers...

I am going to call the dealer and see what goes... Do they replace the entire headunit or do they refurbish it.
