those of you running 19" rims what tire size?

i know this has been beaten to death but i can't find the old posts. i was just curious to know what tire size you guzy are running on the 19" wheels. i was thinking maybe a 235/35/19 or a 245/35/19. which is the better size? i was not able to find any tires with a 235/40/19 size. i was leaning more toward the 235 simply because i do not want rubbing issues and i also live in NJ. any clearance issues with a 2" drop on the 40 series tires?

245/35/19 - no rubbing at all. Many others run this size without issues as well.

I've got 19"x8" rims, and I'm running 245/35-19's. Perfect fit, no rubbing. Just make sure your rims have the right offset, and you'll be OK.

Depends on the wheel width but here are some examples. Courtesy of the sticky in the tire/wheel section.

Specification Sidewall Radius Diameter Circumference Revs/Mile Difference
225/50-17 4.4in 12.9in 25.9in 81.2in 780 0.0%
235/40-19 3.7in 13.2in 26.4in 82.9in 764 2.1%
245/45-19 4.3in 13.8in 27.7in 87.0in 729 7.0%
235/40-19 3.7in 13.2in 26.4in 82.9in 764 2.1%
235/35-19 3.2in 12.7in 25.5in 80.0in 792 -1.5%

Yeah what he said...

I have 245/40/19's but the correct size is 245/35/19

I'd recommend getting a 35mm offset, anything higher wont look very good.

my duddy has a set of 234/35/19's on his truck and as nice as they look the ride is crap and handeling is trickey. however my boy has 245/45/19 on his ride and the seem to want to flex a little more while cornering keeping the car more stable when in a turn. and make sure that you are always on the pot hole patrol. my boy just his one in his truck and he bent the inside of the rim it was a 2 1/2 inch lip on the freeway where the pavement transitioned $150 for the fix or 800 for a new rim. gl

So it looks like 245/35-19 is the popular choice here. Based on the above table, it looks like the circumference/diameter is the same, so it fills the wheel well exactly the same amount as our stock tires and rims? I thought we'd want bigger and thicker tires to fill up the wheel well more.

ok guys. i just called the place that sells them and they said that one of the adr warehouses closed down so they got overstock on the chrome finish wheels, thats why they are running a special on them at a price of $679 for all 4. however, if i wanted them in the silver finish, they are going to run $400 EXTRA!!! do u really think its worth it? personally i thought that the silver finish would be easier to take care of but now im not sure if it would really be worth it to dish out the extra cash for silver wheels when the chromes are usually more expensive. wat do u guyz think? thanks again for all the input!
