MOMO Combat EVO Silver-Installed

The stock **** just was doing it for me. So it had to go and from looking at thousands of *****, MOMO won out. They have some really slick *****. I could have gone with at least two other MOMO *****.
Taking the stock **** off was a SOB! I enlisted the help of some tools to get it off. The finished product looks outstanding! I am very pleased with the new ****. It goes very well with the stock shift plate. Just a great addition.
More pics on the homepage as always.

How did you get the stock shifter off? And will any manual shifter work on the gated shifter of the 5.5 gen?

By the way, you have retardedly clean mats

that looks awesome...sort of off topic, but does anybody know if you replace the stock 2k2 6 speed shifter will it have the reverse lever capability?

It just twists off with some substantial force. And thanks on the mats, they are new, so it adds to the cleanliness.

Don't know bout that, but I doubt it. Only if the **** doesn't have any pre-existing buttons on it.

The **** just unscrews. The reverse lockout is part of the stick and stays in place even without the ****. Just pull it off and check it out. You could replace the **** but it would have to be open on the bottom it allow the lockout piece to fit under it. Otherwise you would need to do some more custom work on it.

I hate the cheap feeling **** on the 6 speed and long for something classy with leather. I still don't know why such a nice car has a plastic shift ****. I would prefer a plain leather shift **** with nothing on it. Who looks at the **** to see where the gears are any way?

Very nice! How much was it?? I've bought a replacement **** b4, but it wasn't compatible, so it turned out to be a real B**ch trying to get it on. And Custom Maxima claims their wireless blue led shift **** is not made for the 02-03 auto max's, but it will go on the same gated shifter on the auto alti's. Well, at least they admitted they won't sell something that's not compatible.

I like the OEM 6 speed ****. I don't think it looks cheap and it's mostly leather. It's very similar to the **** on the Skyline. I don't think anyone needs the diagram to shift. For me it's to let others know it's a 6 speed.

The 6 speed **** is all plastic. The black plastic around it looks somewhat like leather but is plastic. I think the looks are OK but it just feels cheap for a part we have to handle so often. It might be cool if it were real leather with a metal insert.

Mine's leather, or sure seems to be. I just went out and scratched it.

Maybe I got a ripped off. We have the same car. 75k on mine and the black plastic is starting to wear down through the texture on the high points. Mine is just soft plastic with leather texture like the dash or center of the steering wheel. I'll admit it is very leather like but when you see it worn down it's definately plastic. I guess it's possible there were different shift *****.

It does seem strange. Mine is definitely not like the dash or steering wheel but I'll let you know what it looks like when I hit 75K. (I'm at 29,800 now )
