Need advice on new Wiper blades

Son of B*tch, I went to pull my wipers off my frozen windshield and the passenger side blade stuck to the windshield and ripped off.

I wanted to ask fellow .org members for any advice for a good inexpensive, not cheap, pair of wiper blades and if anyone could help me by providing the sizes needed for a 2k.

Thank guys,

i've had no problems with piaa wiperblade refills since i bought them about a year and a half ago... they seem to be a lot more affective compared to the stock blades. you can buy a pair here: http://www.autobarn.net/piwiblre.html

hope this helps!

You'll need a 26" fo the driver's side and a 17" for the passenger's side. Some people suggest PIAA blades but they're kinda on the pricey side. Just go to Pepboys or Autozone and grab some Bosch blades. They're good enough. Remember that you're gonna replace the blades like every 6mo-1year so i wouldnt advise splurging...

i would actually say go with piaa, cus in the long run u save money. they are like $40.00 a pair the first time u get them, than you can just get a refil for like 8 buks every time u need to change them.

The PIAA wiper REFILL fits perfectly in the OEM wiper. I did it, it works. They're like $8 and $10 for the 17" and 26" respectivly.

Buy the refills. As stated, they fit the stock mounting points perfectly...and are vastly cheaper than even standard OEM replacements.

I've had bad experiences with Bosch.

I use Plyon, they are cheap and work well.

Thanks for the help guys. Almost my whole car is PIAA and they haven't let me down so I think I'll go with the refills. Quality = less time spent in the future on the same thing

The Autozones and such I went to in two states didn't carry the 26 inch. For some unknown. I ended up buying PIAA's online.

The thought of having to buy wipers online isn't the most convenient method. This guy needs wipers now ! Personally, I'd go with bosch. Anything else streaks and skips on my windshield. But its true on what is said before, you will replace wipers every 6 months to a year, earlier if you live in the snow belt.

Right, but like I said, I couldn't find them at a local store, Autozone, O'reilys, Advance...
So the next step was online.

I use Rain-X brand wipers, $9 a piece and they work great. I also slather the windshield with Rain-X. My nighttime visibility in the rain is astounding.

Online, but I just checked and they don't seem to sell them any more.

(not here any more) http://www.autogeek.net/autogeek/ (not there any more)

I bought there because they took/take paypal and had free shipping. Look around, you'll find a comparable deal.

Okay, went to several different sites and with shipping included into the final price, they were the cheapest here:

http://search.store.yahoo.com/cgi-bi...wiper%20refill

26" = 8.99
17" = 6.99
Shipping = 4.95
Total = 20.93

Not too bad, so I went ahead and made the purchase.

I can vouch for this online retailer. I've bought several things from them and never had a problem.

Sweet! Better deal than I got last year. For some reason I think mine came to $23 (my prices above were estimates from memory).

Know what would be handy? If there was some type of system where computers could be linked together with one computer running some type of software allowing people to post and record information and archive it to share with others looking for the same type of information...then we could all benefit from one person's time and effort to find the best prices on stuff...but what would we call it?

(yes, I'm uber:bored at work )

I replaced my stock blades after having them on the car for 34 months. They still wiped good but they were coming apart on the ends. I clean the edges of them every time I wash the car to keep the edges clean. I bought another pair of Nissan refills to replace them.

These rock:

Normally $39.95 each, but you get them for $24.95 by using promo code SECRETDEAL when you order them.

I was going to ask the same question about blades. I have an '03 SE and need to replace the blades. I really like the Bosch but unfortunately they don't make the 26" required for the driver's side. I can get the 17 for the passenger no problem. I've tried the Michellen's (the guys at Pep Boys and Strauss Auto claim it's the same manufacturer but I'm not sold on the quality). I have Bosch on both sides of my wife's 99 2.3TL and they work so much better.

I went on Bosch's website and apparently they don't make the 26" for the max. What to do???

Believe it or not I use Mopar wiper blade replacements (the whole blade) 26 and 17 inches -- the last set I had on, I just replaced after 20k miles and 1.5 years of driving and they were only just barely beginning to show signs of streaking when it rained. They're also nice and quiet, and cheap (I paid $11 for the two blades, like $5 for one and $6 for the other, at my cost.)

I got the PIAA, and let me say: They're cool, but the OEM were better when new.

Sense? I had OEM, I have PIAA refills... PIAA do work better, and the refills aren't that much more and I haven't had to replace them as often so it works out.

I swapped both of mine in 5 minutes. That includes removing them from the car and reinstalling them.
