QUICK HELP needed on HID removal (I am not a theif!!)
Hey guys,
A friendly org member told me how to remove the HIDs with DataDots done, so that I could do my DDEs and clear the signal. So I'm outside takin out the headlamps. I got everything out, and then came time to pull on the light to remove the metal rod thingy that goes into the fender. I pulled, and I pulled, and I pulled, and you get the point. I could not get that fregan thing out of there. So this is what I'm looking at right now:
So now you know I'm not a low-life theif, so can anybody that's done this please help me out? I need a response quickly as my car is sitting outside with hood opened and light half-way out. Thanks guys.

That looks like a tool bag used by thiefs!!

I think you're missing a screw that goes to the side, very hard to reach (at least in the I30, we have one 10mm screw that you have to reach thru the bottom, take out the plastic cover and use your police mag flash and check for another screw. Hope that helps!

i had the same problem last weekend, i gave up... i pulled on that other side of the light and broke something... and it still didnt come out, i didnt understand what was holding it... i just shoved it back in, and it looks like i messed with it... i posted before and a member told me
"Relax, bro...it is in there MAD tight, but there are only 5 things holding it in there...there are the 2 screws at the top of the housing. Remove those first. Next, pop the little nub right above the blinker. Now, you will need to PULL HARD to get the headlight out...there are two things holding it in place...the clip on the bottom and a compression type bolt behind the blinker which sits in front of the wheelwell. You will need to pull on that HARD. Just give it some patience...and some elbow grease!!!! Good luck!!!!"
now from me actually doing it, i dont think its just pulling hard.... lemme know if u r able to get it out

Thanks for the help. Just figured I'd let you guys know how it turned out.
I pulled really hard and it wouldn't come out. So I took orlando and BlkShadow's advice and checked for a screw. Sure enough, there was a screw I had to take out from inside the wheel-well that was holding in the headlight. I did not see a metal rod anywhere, just this long extension of the headlight with a screw going into it. So I finally got it out.
Thanks guys.
