Intake Whistling

I just installed my Berk Intake w/ K&N filter a few weeks ago, and the installation was fine, except sometimes at WOT I can hear a whistling noise that goes on for a few seconds. It kind of sounds like a tea kettle. It this supposed to happen or is there a leak somewhere? I looked but couldn't find any leaks so I'm not sure what it is. Is this noise harmless/normal, or should I look into it more?

no, it's supposed to whistle. That is the sound of the air going past the throttle body butterfly valve. Get used to it.

My max does it with the stock box, mostly when I get on it out of second..

I just insatlled my Berk Intake a few weeks ago, does the same whistle under WOT. But does it also whistle on the open highway cruising around 50+ with light throttle pressure(the whistle is not nearly as loud as WOT), because it does for me.

Yes, it does.....I normally hear the whistle at what I think is about 3k rpm's. Not really sure about this number, I will check it next time I am driving now that you mention it so I will know for sure. So, if you are out cruisin on the highway and have to rev it up a little to make a pass or somethin, you will most likely hear it. I think it sounds kinda cool, almost like a blower.

Yeah I love the sound the intake makes, but that random whistle just seemed out of place so I just wanted to make sure nothing was wrong.

the trick is to hold your rpms just to the "whistle level" when accellerating next to stupid ricers...then they always look over thinking you have some kind of crazy-*** turbo
