busta...I see you have added a step about some calibration stuff....what is the point of this? YOu say to do this calibration thing and then remove needles, and then you are done? (or are you adding some other steps as I type this?)

nice...so when you are recalibrating this, you have it in the car all hooked up but with the plastic facing off?

Bingo. You have to plug evrything back in, return to calibration mode, hold the button in with one hand, and plug the needles back in with another. Remember, you are in calibration mode when the digital odometer reads "8" across the board. This is why you have to record where the needles were so that you may place them back into their datum point.

Sounds alot harder than it actually is, but ah...such is the price we pay for better looks.

forgive me, somehow not getting this (damn, and I went to engineering school too )

so assume when you calibrate it in advance and you mark the position at 20mph, for instance....then when you unplug everything, the speedo will fall to zero, right?

then when you recalibrate at the end you do all the buttons and THEN attach the speedo back to 20mph?

....and I haven't even been drinking tonight

Right. More precisley, when you release the odometer button everything will return to zero. This works to our advantage because you can hold the button down for as long as you wish as to obtain the calibration points.

Which discipline did you go for?

Removing blue backing of the faceplate alone without changing the bulbs wouldn’t make it brighter?

Well, it will make it brighter, however, it will only amplify the blue coloration of the film on the back of the faceplate.
