Just saw a pic of a Max with this mod, thought it was definitely original, wondering if anybody has it and what they thought of it.

there are several of them out there now, so it's not as original as it used to be

(btw, in my *opinion* it's pretty lame, but that's just MY opinion, so nobody get all offended by it........)

 

I don't see it being that much more functional or appealing, so to me it is a lost mod.

 

to me, it's ultra ghetto.

I think if all you want is a show car, and your all about the car stereo i guess it's nice, but its just not my style, more for a 17 year old.

 

Actually it is very original in the MTV series "PIMP my Ride"......

I did it, but highly suggest not to do it. it looks like crap. I hardly used it and if not done right it will not go flush with the rest of the car. don't do it not a good mod at all. more cheap that anything....

 

If it rains, and you open the trunk, you will have water all in your trunk......

 

well you can't just do the flip flop mod and leave it like that. if you do the trunk part thats closer to the windshield won't stay down. you have to install something to hold it down, like me I had to leave the bolts in and take them out when I wanted to use it. not fun. the trunk won't open flip flop just like that. its a oem/ flip flop. you have to put it back to oem to close it and set it to flip flop when opening it. so it will open regular untill set for the mod...

again don't waste your time.........

 

I think it looks good on 4th Gens, because of the way that the tail lights are set up, but on our 5th gens i dont really think it looks good.

It's a $20 kit you can buy on ebay for shit's sake

 

you can do it for less than that. bout $5 in home depot. DON'T DO IT!!!!!

no the "don't do it" part was for the member who started the thread.....

 

i did the flip flop mod to my trunk, and while everybody talks crap about it on here, whenever i go to a show (including maxima only shows) everyone comes over and wants to know how i did, how they can do it, if i sell kits, etc. etc. i don't think it's the coolest mod in the book, but it does get people over to my car and to see my other non-ricer mods.
