Question on plastic undercarraige

Yea i was traveling down the fl. turnpike, and a semi left rubber sprawled across the highway. it was about 9pm so i didnt see it on time. ended up running over it and tore the plastic under my front bumper...ended up taking off all the way up to the upper left wheel well.. is that an important part of the car that i should replace, or should i just forget about it.

its called a splash guard and you can get them at the dealership. but you dont have to have them. i removed them when i did my y-pipe install and never put them back on

keeps the wind noise down also when your traveling at high speeds.. but if you dont have it and you go though a large puddle and your alternator gets really really wet your gonna be walking home.. its a good idea and it prob wont cost you more than 200$ to get a new one if you can put it on yourself. IMO get one.. Def a must have in florida summers!
