I noticed a shiny black Volvo pull out behind me heading up the hill and I tried to speed up too. The Volvo shot past me quickly and left me in it's dust. It was a V70 sedan I believe. Maybe S70? It was something 70 anyway. Are those things really that fast or was I just taken off-guard? I wonder how we would have compared from a stand-still.

They have one NA and two turbocharged versions. The T5, which you may have lined up with has about 250 HP and is quite fast. Don't feel too bad.

The S70 T5 has a 136HP Turbo intercooled 2.5L inline 5 engine. It consists of 215 45 ZR 17 tires and sport suspension. 5 Speed manual. It flies and its very light. Maxima shouldn't be lagging behind it. Infact, the Maxima is faster at 0-60. Maybe the S70 held an advantage accelerating before you at the hill.

Those things are aggressive, but we are standing next to them...

247HP/243 lb-ft. Curb weight of ~3300 lbs for the station wagon.

I test drove the S70 (I think that was the one...the Volvo "traditional" looking one). It was pretty spunky.

It's actually getting hard to find any vehicle with a 0-60 time over 10 seconds. You have Hyundais Elantras with 8.3 0-60 times now. I love cars and computers, they both get so good so fast.
