Power Window Problems on 2001

My 2001 Maxima SE Anniversary edition started developing problems with the driver's side power window at around 34k miles. Despite complaining to the dealer, they refused to repair and insisted that the issue was that the rubber guides simply needed lubrication.

The problem has gotten progressively worse and a fresh application of lubricant to the guides only lasts a day or two before the window is barely operable. Any ideas or input?

Replace the window motor/regulator assembly.
Insist that it be covered under warranty or good faith by the dealership since they apparently can't diagnose ****.

I have the same problem with my windows. Get some silicone lubricant.. Each use usually holds me over for a month.

If the lubricate doesn't solve the problem, it's likely your motor regulator is failing. I agree with Paralyse that you should insist that it should be cover under warranty unless it's already expired after three years or 36k miles whichever came first.

PM soonerfan here on the org. He knows one of the shop techs at Brown's Sterling Nissan (also where I bought my max). They've done warranty work for me and didn't even give me a hard time about my mods....

oh. also, clean the inner lower seal (where the window goes into the door)...clean the inside of it using a rag and some carburetor cleaner spray. Alot of gunk builds up on those strips and slows the window. I do that once a month (plus greasing the side rails) and that keeps it going up/down fast and smooth.
