Yeah, the dealer has to do it. Mine wanted 85 bucks for it, but I think it runs just fine without the reprogram so I skipped it. I believe some people on the .org have done it and said they get better gas mileage because of it? I'm not sure that there are any other benefits.

so not getting it done will not effect performance? i would think it would retard timing or give inacurate air/fuel ratios. i really dont feel lioke going to the dealer its such a hassel every time, not to mention the time u waste.

i never had the reprogramming and it has run great for a while now. timing would not be controlled by the maf but i have checked mine with my harrison and know that it is good. i have not had the a/f monitored since my last dyno with the old maf but i should be getting a new dyno before too long. i will post up the graph along with a/f to see if/how much it has changed.

Didn't upgrade my ECU when installed my new MAF one year ago in my 2000 I30. Runs fine, but I have always wondered what the ECU upgrade does.

Any Nissan Techs out there who may know? Please tell us!
