Is this a problem with dde's? Pics inside.

I just received my dde's from umnitza and noticed that on the ends of the little rings there are plastic tabs for mounting purposes I guess, but on the big ones they are missing. Is that how its supposed to be or are the big rings supposed to have the plastic tabs too.Tabs are circled in red. Also I didn't receive the installation instructions with my kit, am I the only one?

The mounting tabs aren't really necessary. You would just epoxy other parts of the ring instead. I was emailed a username and password so I could access the install instructions from the Umnitza webpage and just print them from there.

I don't know what umnitza is doing now, but I thought it was weird that I'd always seen the rings with brown wires (like on housecor's website) and that mine were all white. Now I see that you got a combination of colors. Also, when I got mine, all of those plastic things on the ends were in the box, off the rings. So I just epoxied them back onto the rings. I think mine were returned or something b/c they were kinda messy, but I guess it doesn't matter.

When I got mine, all 4 rings came with the plastic mounting tabs and all the wires were white. BTW you can use superglue. It works just as well. I recommend the brush-on kind. Makes it less messy.

Where exactly on umnitza website do you go to get the installation instructions? The only thing that I've seen there were installation video for a maxima, but that also was a different dde kit. Can you guys direct me to the right page?
Thanks.

I got some login passwords from Matt but they dont work. Are you supposed to got to the login at the main page? Should I worry about not having mounting plastic tabs on the bir rings? I dont know if the different color wires are a problem, I checked all the rings and they light up fine and they are the same color.

On bottom left side of the main page, there is a link that says installation resources. You go in there and click on 2002-03 Maxima. Then it'll prompt you for the username and password.

I didn't get instructions....but what concerns me is that your rings are way differently sized....mine are almost the same sizes....maybe because the smaller ones are blue. (umnitza sent me the wrong color)

I think MaximaPolak is right about the sizes. If I recall, the rings should be almost the same size, as in his picture in the previous post. I think AKOGAN might have different colored wires b/c he has the smaller or larger rings, or both, for another car.

I dont even know if mine are the correct size, I'me assuming that they are. It would realy suck to open up the headlight housing and to find out that either I or you got the wrong size rings. What concerns me is that mine have brown wires on the big rings and white wires on the little rings. They all light up the same color but what is the reason for different color wires. also my big rings dont have plastic mounting tabs on the end of the rings, Im concerned about that.

For anyone elese who got dde's, how much bigger are the big rings supposed to be over the little ones. Does it seem like mine are correct size or maximapolak's are. Please help.

For the plastic tabs, check in the bottom of the box, they may have come off, as mine were detached when I got 'em.

As for the sizing, I don't have a very good picture of my rings uninstalled, but you can tell that the rings should be almost the same size just by looking at the headlight. Also, I'm posting a pic here from housecor's website (I hope he doesn't mind) that shows them in the box. They're not inside each other like in your pics, but I believe you can see that the rings are almost the same diameter. And yes, the packaging seems to have changed over time, too.

This is how my rings came in the box and yes It does look like I got the wrong size rings because the smaller one is a lot smaller than the big one. Maybe that is the reason the wires are different color. Dont they at umnitza have the right kits for cars already packaged, or do they package them as soon as they receive an order for one. Do they make the rings there or do they buy them?

I know they are supposed to be different sizes but the inner one is supposed to be just slightly smaller than the outer. On my kit the inner one is a lot smaller than the outer.
