cattman vs budget ypipe

what hp gains are to be expected with each pipe

cattman is twice as much, does it produce 2x hp?

thanks

Cattman is better quality, and budget is well, budget.

If I were going w/ y-pipe and didn't live where corrosion/salt is an issue, which I don't, I'd get the budget or wsp.

actually, the y-pipes we call "budget" are actually made by LSS (Lyell Stainless Steel). I haven't heard anything bad about the "budget" pipes, personally. They are SS after all....

There's no problems with the budget pipes, I have one, I'm in Toronto and we have the most salted roads on the planet, no corrosion whatsoever.
The gains are real and like you said, they are much cheaper.

I emailed the guys at LSS last night seeing if they would be interested in setting up a group deal here on the org considering we haven't had a SS ypipe group deal on here in awhile. I have not received a reponse yet though.

I also got budget y-pipe and no corrosion after 3 crazy winters w/ tons of snow and salt.

Last time they had a GD it wasn't all that great.... I forget exactly how much they wanted... but it wasn't all too appealing to me, so I ended up going with a used Cattman... anyways... not to get y'all down or anything, just didn't want ya to get your hopes too high... I do hope things work out... all the best...

Thanks for the info man.....I know right now they have it listed for about 200 dollars (250 canadian) and if they could knock that down to like 180 I would be plenty happy. But like you said, considering I didn't hear back from them today, I won't get my hopes up.

Alright, since we can't really do this in the group deal forum anymore, everyone who is interested in buying a budget ypipe if it were on sale please post in here and I will send them this thread.

From what I have heard, there are no fitment issues with the Budget and gains in the mid-high end should be similar to the cattman. Considering the Cattman runs $350, I wouldn't have a problem with 1 or 2 less hp.

OK, I just sent the guys at Budget another email with a link to this thread. Hopefully they are getting my emails and will see all of the interest shown in this thread for a group deal.

So long as they guarantee it will fit onto a 5.5th gen with no mods, I'd be in for around $175 US.

Well, I guess I might have to put in a call to Canada. It doesn't seem as if email is Budget's preferred method of contact.

If budget is going to act like that then im going to go with warspeed... let them know that as well since I am ready to buy now! Now that I think about it im going with warspeed anyway. Why would I spend the same amount on the canadians when I can get the same deal here in the states for a better pipe...

I would not say that WS is a better pipe considering it is not Stainless steel like the budget....not to mention several orgers have had fitment issues.

Ya, I just called and left them a message explaining to them that we are trying to get a group deal set up and that there are about 20-30 members on here interested in buying a ypipe from them. Hopefully they call back tomorrow.

Update on Budget Y Pipe Deal

OK, I received an email back from Budget this afternoon and they are in the process of discussing what they might be able to do for us for both aluminized and stainless steel y-pipes. Jody at Budget said they will get back to me tomorrow with what they can do for us.

I would post this thread in the group deal forum, but since we aren't allowed to anymore, figured I would post it in here since all the 5th gen guys were the ones interested in it (See "cattman vs budget ypipe" thread).

For those of you that didn't show your interest in that thread, go ahead and do so now, as well as which type (aluminized or SS) that you would prefer.

I am not modding the 02 (getting too old) but I had the Budget for the 95 and it was a great bargain. No fit-related issues, no corrosion on salted roads, no buzzing noises. They may be difficult to get a hold of but once you do they deliver promptly.

Only on the 5.5 there are fitment issues. I just saw your other thread that they finally responded. I would be very curious to know the price on each one...
