SES Light On...

So I just picked up my new-to-me 2002 SE 6 speed yesterday at the dealership. It has 29k miles on it. Anyways I got it and drove right to work. This morning I leave work and 10 minutes into my ride the SES light comes on. I was like what the F@$&????!?!? So I called the dealer and the service guy says it could be 30-40 different things and is not a big deal, they will check it Monday when I come in for my sticker and to pick up my registration. Is this something to be worried about? It makes me nervous that I just picked up the car and already a problem?? What do you guys think?

Just like the guy said, it can be a lot of things. But don't worry about it. It's probably something simple. My friend picked up a 05 Altima last month. On his way home from the dealership the first day, the SES light came on. Wait until they take care of it when u take the car back.

Dealer is correct, there are many, many different codes that can be read from ECU when SES light comes on.
Most minor, some major. If it is something truly tragic, light flashes instead of staying constantly lit.

Wait to get code read before worrying too much.

Congratulations on the new car!

ok

as long as the light is not BLINKING you are OK. Blinking indicates a major problem. On my Y2K its been on for awhile and i've been driving no problem. Dont worry about it but I know how you feel....lol

Thanks guys, I feel a little better about waiting 3 days before I get to the dealer. I love the car, it's so much fun to drive!
