damn lower that 4x4 ! You have the same car as mine, check out my website I recomend you lower it ( my stuff is on the forum for sale) and get some better light weight wheels. Save your $$$ by getting some used stuff on the .org, then get decent wheels. It kills me when I see someone post pictures of Maximas with heavy azz wheels. I recomend Ypipe to start, then a Place Racing cold air.

I paid 500 for the shocks and 400 for springs, when I got my Maxima. When I got it in May of 01 (production date of April 01) no one but Ground Controll made coil overs for the Max, and only shocks back then where Koni Yellows for the 4th gen Maxima. So I modified it to work in the 5th gen. The front is slammed little over 3" front stock and rear is only bout .5" lower than stock. Front lip used to be off the aniversary edition, now I have the ghey ABS front lip that don't fit the car at all. I don't have any body kit on my car other than the lip. Lowered Maximas tend to look like they have body kits on them. I'm going with the Stillen front lip and 02 Max bumper in the spring when I repaint her.

ahh i see..thats awesome..that gives me an idea for the drop size.. .5 rear and 2.5 in the front..that mite be good 18's...but hey i like that no-spoiler look a lot. the guy i bought the maxima from put the factory spoiler on too..if i take it off will there be holes left?

see my webpage...I have a black 00 also.
-smoke the side markers (see page)
-G35 coupe rims (going on next month once I get some tires for em!!!)
-tint (not too dark. like 35% looks nice on a black max)
-Maxspeed springs are a nice even drop, but not TOO low...1.5 front, 1.0 back....look at my site and you'll see it's a very even, natural looking drop.

those are my top 3 cosmetic outside mods.

but personally, I vote to go with suspension/handling mods FIRST....they will make the car much more fun to drive.

yeah if you take the stupid spoiler off, there will be holes left in the deck lid- which is not cool. I was going to get the LIP spoiler for a I30/I35 from Paradox yesterday but I'm not sure if I can bent it to the shape of the rear trunk lid. I have 18s for spring, but not sure which ones I'ma put on. I'm kinda limited cause of my brakes, I'm shooting for Nismo wheels off a 350Z, or some Volks.

As for the tail light mod... I think that the 01 tails look good without the dark paint. If you want to do an SE tail conversion, try going for the look of the later 5th gen SE (silver instead of black around the round lenses). That's just my opinion, though. Lots of people prefer the old 5th gen SE tails (dark) over the later 5th gen SE tails (silver).

lol...glad to see my how-to is still be used!

to answer your question: very carefully!

i just used small strips of tape layered one over the other in small circular direction to make a circle. if you got up real close to it, you could see that it isn't a perfect circle...but gets the job done.

you could get some sort of large sticker type sheet and cut a perfect circle out and then apply...which ever works best for you.
