Car Bras

I know lots of 5th gen max owners got tons of paint chips including mines. But i was wondering what do u guys think of the car bra???? They are ugly but im starting to think its better than my paint comming off everytime i drive on a dusty street, road, etc etc. I do wash my car very often is it a pain in the *** to take um off???? And for those that do have um can you post some pics. Thanks

It'll take minutes to take it off and put it on... some people like them, some don't. I have a magnetic bra I put on for the winter (NE = sand/salt = horribly pitted front end).

....no pics. I'll take some when I get home but I'm away for the week.

Do a clear 3m bra. There's a couple of threads about them kickin around. They cost more but it doesn't take away the beauty of the Max like the traditional vinyl bra. Dig around like the first 7 or 8 pages of threads and you'll find it. They work the *****!

Look in the GB section maximagray

There's some new sponsor out in San Francisco running group buys on the GB portion of the site, you might want to check it out. They apparently focus on tinting/clear bras, but I don't know if anyone has used them yet.

I just use the hood part of the bra and left the front end exposed. I think it looks alot cleaner and not so bulky. That piece takes 3 seconds to remove. Just keep it clean and shiny with vinyl protectant and it should look good. Sorry no pics.

I've got a MagnetBra and it does a good job of protecting the front of the hood. Believe they come in black or white. Easy installation and normally water will not get behind them as it does on a conventional bra. Normally, I leave it on when washing the car, but periodically remove it to inspect/clean underneath. Also, they will not flap and lift at speed as the regular bras do.

I don't think they're ugly at all. I have used them on all 3 of my Maxes.

I have the mftr bra and i love it. Makes the car look very aggressive, and distinguished. it definitely sets it apart from the many maximas on the street. My last one was destroyed in a recent accident, i'm definitley replacing it with the same. the clear bra, imo i aint paying for what i dont see. I could see if it was a bentleys. And the fit is tight, never flapping.

the problem is each time you wash you need to take them off (normal bra), and also each time as it rains or snows. Then drying them out is a major pain, as well as worrying about washing the car after it rained. I bought one and used it once. My schedule was too weird to be able to wash the car reguarly each time i went driving on the highway and put that thing on. My fresh bumper ended up getting all chipped up, such is life.

not to mention if you live somewhere like Arizona, there is so much dust that gets caught under them and seriously scratches the hell outta the paint....go with the clear bra, they work good, you cant see them, its well worth it...i have one, but im waiting to get my front bumper re-painted before i put it on
