How hard is it to install?? I've got a 02 Max, but have no idea where it would go, or really how to go about setting it up.

Before doing anything, you can check out how bad your fiter is before replacing it since it can be cleaned. I thought about replacing it when I bought my '02 Max with 27K miles, but took a look at it and clean it and saved myself about $50. Actually, I cleaned it after putting another 4k miles since I didn't know about the incabin filter. You can go to: http://www.greghome.com

Try Jerry Rome Nissan at: http://www.jerryromenissan.com/en_US/
Click on Parts and do a search for the part. When you get to the checkout, enter "maxima" in the discount code box and you'll get a pretty good discount off your order. I bought my all season matts, front mud guards and in-cabin filter from here for cheap.

4 screws and a couple of plugs that need to be disconnected from the glove box (and not each other!). It's not bad, sometimes need to wrestle with the glove box a tiny bit, and getting under the glove box to get to the bottom 2 screws is...interesting. Here's all you need: http://www.innerbean.com/housecor/cabin_filter.html

Soak 'em

I just did my semi-annual cleaning.....

I seem to be getting alot of debris in the filter and fan unit since the fresh air intake is almost a straight pass-thru

Filters were pretty dirty after six months of use, so i removed them and soaked them in a hot water bath of Mr. Clean, and it really did the trick.
Oh - helps to blow them out with compressed air before soaking as well.

Hopefully I can get a few more miles out of these filters since $50 a pop is totally ridiculous.

A 10 minute process to remove them, and then replace them in the morning after drying. Good maintenance.
