Currently I'm using silverstars in my 01 SE. I'm thinking about upgrading, what do you think I should do? Honestly, I don't really know much about cars, I jus want my lights to look bright. haha. I know the 02-03 models come with HID's, is it possible to install those into my 01? If so, where could I get them? Are there also generic HID kits that would work with my maxima? and also...how much would it cost?

on a different note, i've seen the projector headlights on custom maxima and on ebay. i was thinking if the HID kits are too expensive i could get the projector lights and use PIAA or raybrig 5000k lights to emulate the look of HID. anyways..any feedback would be appreciated. holla!

 

I think the best choice is to buy the 2k2-2k3 HID, they now have oem that sell on e-bay for 599$. The projector are halogen and I dont think they will output more light than your current set-up, some org member bought a set and retrofit a HID projector in thoses and it look great but the 2k2 HID are direct fit and if choose those one you wont get bother by the police.

 

Get some 2k2-2k3 HIDs

 

Go HID's and don't buy those projectors off ebay. Check the 5th gen f/s thread. I think Triple8sol is still selling 2 pairs of HID's.

 

projectors look like crap, i saw em the other day on Maxima at my school. Personally i like the 02-03 headlight, but if u got an 01, just get an HID kit and leave the headlights alone

 

get 2k2-2k3 hids

i did it, i love it, i wont do anything else, and i upgraded my bulbs to 6000k

i also did HIDS in my fogs, aimed them a lil higher, and it looks awesome

 

if only these people would do some searching...there are countless numbers of posts EXACTLY like this that could have solved your problem...but anyways, like everyone else said, either get the 5.5 gen HIDs or just put an HID kit in your stock headlights and paint them to look like the AE headlights....do NOT get projectors...
