Re: Grounding Kit-Courtesy Nissan
Is the grounding kit from courtesy nissan any good for the 5.5 gen maxima. I was looking for floormats today and came across it. How much would it cost for 4 guage wire and to do it yourself.

My friend bought one, and I seen it. Its very well made and looks really nice. But I would not buy it for 80. I bought Matt's kit, and its really nice too. I'm sure you could make one from Irish's page, but I was lazy.

I would like to construct one of these kits but the wire I’m finding at Home Depot is not great quality. It has a very low strand count which in turn makes it extremely rigid. Where would I find wire that has a high strand count, making it more flexible? Something similar to large gauge speaker wire but with a more resilient sheathing.
Thanks

4ga wire will work too, but it's a PITA to work with IMHO....I'd go with 6ga at least, it will do the job fine.
btw, total cost of everything was about $25, and that was with 8 wires, not the 4 or 5 that most kits come with.
if you don't want to make your own, I'd suggest Blehmco ( www.mattblehm.com) as the best option for a pre-made one that fits perfectly...

Sorry if I just blatantly overlooked it, but what's the url to Irish's page? It's not in his sig, and I don't think anybody posted it to the thread. I'm sure it's in some super-obvious place, and I'm going to feel stupid when you guys tell me that I just missed it somehow.

I feel like a broken record, but I'll be a sport and say it again. You can go to an auto parts store and get 4 guage wire and connectors for like $25, and make and install the kit in an hour. Epacy's kit is REALLY clean and is very well made, but cost is definately a factor. So just consider how lazy your are feeling and how much money you have and make the decision, because you can make a quality kit yourself, but I have nothing bad to say about Courtesy's kit.

I have the Courtesy Nissan kit. It was a breeze to install and it's good quality too. I'm a lazy a$$ though. I noticed better acceleration and throttle response after installing it.

is the hyperground the same thing as a uncommon ground? i told my older brother i wanted to do a hyperground and he almost kicked my a**, and told me that it is called a "uncommon ground". i just want to make sure we are thinking about the same thing....
and i know it sounds sad that my brother still kicks my a**, however he looks like a gorilla(seriously) and loves to fight... i have seen him rush at 11 people to fight them all... and he won. sent three of the punks to the hospital after they threw something at his prized 87 formula with a vette engine in it.
that car whopped a**, 78 vette engine, milled ported and pollished heads, full header system and "mufflers" (cut open the muffler, rip out the internal workings and weld it shut). and a lot of other stuff i dont even remeber or know what it is... it had t-tops so he had to put in sub-frame connectors, however before he did i pulled a 180 from a standing stop and cracked the windshield from corner to corner...

If you really want some cheap 4,6 or 8 guage wires, I would recommend going to ebay. They have it for like .39 for a foot. Order as much as you like and leave the rest for others. I went to my local electronic stores to get the clips or rings. Auto stores charges an arm and leg for those rings. I did have a chance to do it yet. Fre@king snow.
