Sunroof Rubber Lining

Hi all

On the sunroof (when it is tilted) there is a long rubber lining that looks exactly like a windshield wiper insert. This lining is attached to a thin metal railing with some sort of adhesive. Well, the adhesive has given out. What can I use to reattach this?

It has to bind rubber to metal without ruining the rubber. It also has to be slow drying as to give time to reattach. Silicon?

When you replace the rubber ring please do a write-up.... mine has a gash in it and I've been wondering how to replace it. That info will be very helpful thanks!!!!

Dont know the name of it but the adhesives usually specify the mateirlas they are good for. Used some for putting a trim piece on my minivan and its held great for 2 years so far.

Got some stuff called Goop. Didn't work at all. It dried very quick even though it has a 24 hour drying period. The other adhesives in Auto Zone would become tacky within seconds (according to the parts guy). Not sure what to use now.
